Artist’s statement: Art has always been one of my passions and has always been a part of who I am. I have enjoyed it since school and over the years have always had an art or craft project on the go. Painting is a time where I can relax, be calm and just enjoy the moment I’m in. My artwork is inspired mostly by the beauty of nature. I’ve always followed American artist, Georgia O'Keeffe. My most favourite theme to paint is flowers. I enjoy looking closely at their form, shape and colour. I sold 'The red poppy' and another painting of a sunflower, to a lady who had restored a villa in Upper Hutt and was wanting to put some artwork up.
Exhibition tip: “It’s quite normal to feel scared doing an exhibition for the first time.”
