WEEK 1

Monday 15 January – Clay Treasure Box

Whether it’s for your jewels, your marbles or your favourite spidey friend, everyone needs a clay home for their treasures! We will be learning basic hand building skills with clay like coiling, scratch and attach, and the pinch pot method to turn a blob of clay into an awesome, multipurpose treasure trove.

Tuesday 16 January – Patchwork People

Ready, steady….sew! Dive into our pile of fabric scraps and patches, learn how to hand stitch them altogether, stuff them with natural fibres to create your own soft and squishy colourful character.

Wednesday 17 January – Pot it Together

Did you know plants love to sing! It's just such a high frequency that we can’t hear them. In ‘Pot it Together’, we will create our own moulds, fill them with plaster of paris, paint them and then plant our chosen seeds, ready for you to take home.

Thursday 18 January – Tie Dye T-Shirts

Funk up your day with splashes of colour and patterns. Bring your favourite T-Shirt/s from home and turn it into a groovy wearable work of Tye Dye art!

Friday 19 January – Upcycled Faces

We are the next generation, revolutionary creators of the 21st Century. We are magicians who can turn trash into treasures! In today's art project we are going to scour the workroom for all sorts of weird and wonderful odds and ends to turn them into a modern day portrait.

WEEK 2

Monday 22 January

NO CLASS (Wellington Anniversary)

Tuesday 23 January – Clay Night Light

Need a beacon buddy? Using clay we will learn the basic techniques of hand building to shape, sculpt and mould our way to night light magic. Once we are happy with our designs, we will finish them off by painting them with some fun colours and shades.
*Comes with battery operated tea light

Wednesday 24 January – Pop Art Plants

So many shades of green, but what about a yellow and orange swirly cactus? Or a purple furry fern? Using a range of mixed media we will sculpt new plant forms, add some vibrant colours and you have yourself one very potty poppy plant!

Thursday 25 January – Bamboo Weaving

Ah! The bamboo is looming! Using skewers, fabric, string and yarn we will learn how to weave our way to creative coolness.

Friday 26 January – K WOW

Welcome to the greatly anticipated ‘Kids World of Wearable Arts’. A one day festival of curated creative chaos, our next gens best up and coming artists all coming together to cut, stick, stitch, glue, tie and taper it out to design a moving, grooving walk of art!
