• developing skills in using a grinder for tool-making
• learning how to harden and temper steel
• learning two methods of setting cabachon stones

You will:
• Further develop your fine motor skills
• Gain confidence with using machinery
• Understand the properties of steel and other metals
• Learn and practice the safety procedures required for tool-making

At the end of this course you will have learned the basics of steel tool-making, and learned how to use the punches you have made, either through completing practice pieces or making jewellery to set stones into. You will have gained knowledge in workshop safety procedures.
