Evening Classes Term 1 2024

Held one evening a week, these are run from 6pm-9pm for seven weeks per term.

 Draw Colour Paint

Draw, Colour, Paint! - Term 1
with Alina Gane-Hurcomb

Day: Every Tuesday, 13 February – 26 March

Time: 6:00PM – 9:00PM

Cost: $330 for 7 sessions

In this class you will explore a range of media, from graphite and charcoal to soft pastels and acrylic paints. These fun (and often music filled) classes are suitable for all drawing levels and beginner painters.

Contrary to popular opinion, anyone can learn to draw and paint! This type of observational artistry means that each person will have their own style; no two pieces will be identical, but the fundamental skillset you will develop will help beginners navigate their creative journey, while more experienced artists can hone their technical skills.
Initially, studies will be done using graphite and charcoal and then move into experimentation with soft pastels, bridging the gap between drawing and acrylic painting.

Students will learn how to approach using reference imagery to create in real time. There will also be an element of flexibility around what you create once you have found your observational drawing rhythm.

Suitable for all skill levels.

with Lisa Sinclair

Time: 6:00PM – 9:00PM

Cost: $350 for 7 sessions

Create a colourful landscape ring (or pendant of fighting cats, we don't judge!). Wow your friends and family. Solder pierced layers of copper, brass or silver together and blacken the hollows to create depth. Known as "sweat soldering", this technique is used join pieces of wide, flat metal to larger pieces without melting them (fingers crossed!) Silhouettes work beautifully once you blacken the hollows. Experienced silversmiths may like to add a small stone setting as a highlight.
