Three students from The Learning Connexion have worked together, juggling study commitments and dodgy weather, to document and produce a five minute video for the Hutt City Council that celebrates Avalon Park’s $3.7m upgrade.

Meet the artists. ‘Nurturing Natures’, a collaborative exhibition by 12 artists, closed its doors after a successful talk of-the-town opening night, that saw the Upper Hutt show extended for a further two weeks and approximately $6,000 worth of sales* spread across the three weeks.

TLC Diploma programme and Honours student, Nick Rule, makes 3D sculptures out of paper clay and creates miniature jewellery out of semi-precious metals. He’s had art stalls at the Wellington Frank Kitts market and success selling jewellery and hand-made candles from a local Wellington store.

‘Nurturing Natures’ is a collaborative group exhibition of 12 artists being held at The Mall in Upper Hutt, Wellington on the 12-19th November. Media on show includes jewellery, ceramics, forged sculpture, bronze, drawing, painting, encaustic, felting and photography.

The Learning Connexion likes to get involved with the surrounding local community of Lower Hutt and, this year, are proud to have helped out volunteer community group ‘Boys to Great Men’.
