TLC Scholarships Open for 2027 Study

Applications are now open for TLC’s 2026 scholarship round, providing opportunities for students to receive financial support towards their creative education in 2027.

Every year, The Learning Connexion (TLC) offers a range of scholarships to support students who want to develop their creativity, explore their artistic practice and gain recognised qualifications in art and creativity.

TLC offers NZQA-approved programmes from Level 4 to Level 7, with flexible study options available both onsite at our Lower Hutt campus and through distance delivery.

Scholarships available

Our October scholarship round includes several opportunities for students planning to study at TLC in 2027.

Oriel Hoskin Scholarship
The Oriel Hoskin Scholarship honours the contribution of artist and TLC teacher Oriel Hoskin, supporting students pursuing their creative development at TLC.

Frank Davis Scholarship
The Frank Davis Scholarship recognises creative potential, commitment and an approach to art that questions conventional ways of thinking and making.

E. Mervyn Taylor Scholarship
This scholarship supports a multidisciplinary student enrolling in the New Zealand Diploma in Creativity (Level 6) and honours the legacy of New Zealand artist, wood engraver, painter, illustrator and designer E. Mervyn Taylor.

TLC also offers Director’s Scholarships throughout the year, subject to availability.

Please note: TLC’s Reinvent Your Future Scholarship closed in Sept.

Creative education with flexibility

TLC’s programmes are designed to give students space to explore different creative disciplines while developing their own practice.

Students have access to specialist studios including painting, printmaking, jewellery, ceramics, hot arts, dry media and digital art, as well as TLC’s onsite LAB Gallery.

Study options vary depending on the programme, with part-time and full-time study available and opportunities to study either onsite or from home through distance delivery.
