Our fully equipped art studio hire and Rent-a-Bench spaces in Lower Hutt and Wellington for Jewellery and Printmaking provide the perfect space to keep creating. With access to professional tools and resources, you can work independently on your projects in a supportive creative environment. Spaces are accessible after hours and on weekends, giving you the flexibility to create when it suits you best.

Designed to give you your very own creative studio space, this is an opportunity to dive deeper into your jewellery-making and printmaking passion and hone your skills at your own pace.

We also offer 2D art studio spaces for drawing and painting, providing the same supportive environment for artists working across a range of disciplines.

You can stock up on art materials at the TLC Shop by the LAB Gallery on the ground floor, open Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm.

Our NEW purpose-built jewellery studio

For experienced makers wanting a space to continue their practice, our new purpose-built jewellery studio hire space is fully equipped with the tools and equipment you need. Whether you’re refining techniques or completing independent projects, the studio provides a professional environment designed for creativity.

Rent-a-Bench access is available after hours and on weekends, giving you the freedom to create when it suits you.

Available for use:

9am – 9pm Weekdays
9am – 6pm Weekends (excl. public holidays)

Rent-a-Bench

Our Printmaking & 2D Art Benches

Our printmaking studio hire and 2D art bench spaces are located in an extended part of our lively Printmaking studio. Fully equipped and suited for experienced printmakers, these benches allow you to work independently while being immersed in an inspiring creative environment.

Please note, printmaking students may be working in the main studio at times.

Access is available after hours and on weekends for flexibility around your creative practice.

Studio Hire | Rent-a-Bench

Do you rent out spaces?

Yes, we rent out 2 specialised studios in both jewellery and printmaking. We also have other spaces available. For more information contact studiohire@tlc.ac.nz

When can I access the Rent-A-Bench spaces?

Rent-A-Bench is open 9am – 9pm weekdays, 9am – 6pm weekends, but is not available on public holidays.

Can I nominate my own start date or does it have to be at the beginning of a calendar week?

Yes, provided that all of the contracts are signed and your membership is paid for, you can choose your own start date.

Are there days when the spaces are unavailable to hire?

Yes, we are closed between Christmas and New Years Day (25th Dec – 2nd Jan), and all public holidays.
