Jo Grove

Diploma of Art & Creativity (Hons) from TLC, Dunedin School of Art (Ceramics), Wanganui Polytechnic (Art, Craft & Design)

Jo Grove has over 26 years of experience teaching art and creativity to both adults and children. Her creative journey has taken her through Dunedin, Wellington, and Whanganui, where she studied ceramics, glass (hot, warm, and cold), drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media. Making and creating has always been central to who she is, beginning in childhood and leading to exhibitions in Aotearoa New Zealand, London, Japan, and Ireland.

Alongside her art practice, becoming a mother led Jo into the antenatal world as a facilitator. Later, she co-founded a successful jewellery business specialising in upcycled china.

Now based on the Kapiti Coast with her whānau, Jo‘s creative practice continues to evolve as a journey of the soul, where labels matter less than the connections, stories, and transformations that art can make possible.  Jo mentors as a Creativity Kaiako for our distance students and also runs weekend workshops at TLC.
