Hot Arts

Thursday (new day!) – Hot Arts Studio

Explore the fiery world of working with metal in our Hot Arts practical classes

This practical class will guide you through the process of designing and creating artwork in metal, whether you have experience or you’re a complete beginner.

You might begin by sculpting and refining designs, then preparing them for sand or bronze casting through traditional and sand casting techniques. Or perhaps you’ll start by gaining experience in using a forge to create functional and artistic metal objects.

From mastering technical skills to bringing your creative vision to life, you’ll work in a supportive environment as you tackle each step of the process. You’ll leave the class with a collection of finished works and a deep appreciation for this time-honoured art.
Welding may also be available to students with prior experience.

Your Toi Kaiako will guide you through the essential Health and Safety guidelines for keeping yourself and your workspace safe while working in this extraordinary discipline.
