Thursday – Taylor Computer Suite
Explore your creativity with digital art and take your ideas from rough sketches to polished artworks.
In Term 3, our focus is on character concept design, where you’ll learn how to develop a character from a brief.
We’ll explore body shapes, expressions, costumes, & props. We’ll cover a range of digital painting techniques, starting with simplified, cartoon-style shading and line work, and building towards more complex realistic rendering. Advanced students can learn how to add photo-montaging to their designs, giving more texture and realism to their work – Photoshop is available on selected studio computers for this.
You can begin with hand-drawn sketches or go straight in with digital tools such as Photoshop, Affinity Photo, or other alternatives. Guidance on software and devices is available, with studio computers provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own device. Some basic computer confidence is recommended.
This class is recommended for anyone who wants to build practical digital art skills in a supportive and creative environment.
