Jewellery For Beginners | Term Two, 2024

This class is great for beginner students who want to get a taste of jewellery and a fantastic extension of skills for those who attended Term 1 Beginners Jewellery.
We'll be looking at creative chain making, starting with simple solder chains and moving onto more complex and interesting designs and finishes along the lines of chainmail, weaving and forming.
A variety of chain clasps and hooks will be explored and there'll also the opportunity to solder and create silver bezels to hang as a pendant from your chains.
This is going to be a fun and productive class that will help you to get to grips with the tools and processes of cutting, heating, forming and soldering of metals.
Priority will be given to beginner students. Space permitting, intermediate and advanced students are most welcome, and will be expected to experiment with jewellery making techniques and to grow their understanding of metal forming, heat application and soldering.
