The Matrix System with Alan Poole - T2.36

About the class
In a world where A.I. is increasingly being used to create digital artworks and characters, the ability to use your imagination is more important now than ever!
One way to help boost the powers of your imagination is the 'Matrix System'. This was developed for Japanese character design, and works by creating a matrix to plan out character traits (physical, emotional, elemental etc) in a series of rows and columns. It allows you, as the designer, to visually see what traits could overlap in order to create an original design.
In this class, we'll learn how to use this system to combine different traits to create unique characters across a variety of genres – from fantasy to science fiction and even horror. The possibilities of this system are endless ... the only limit is your imagination!
You'll explore the three main matrices used:
1) The Form Matrix (physical attributes and body)
2) The Costume Matrix (what outfits and props the character may have)
3) The Personality Matrix (the character's personality)
This class is suitable for traditional media or digital devices. It's also suitable for all levels, but some drawing experience would be helpful
