Mosaic art is making a comeback. From fine and fiddly micro mosaic jewellery, traditional methods used in interior design, to contemporary mosaic murals in public street art, the growing use of cut tile for creative expression can’t be ignored.
Great for beginners, this three day class will introduce you to traditional mosaic making techniques and processes. Learn the different ways to cut glass and ceramic tesserae and get to experiment with styles and methods such as ‘trencadis’ (Gaudi Style) and ’adamento’ (the visual flow and direction produced by placement).
With these newly honed skills you will be able to design and create your own unique, small, mosaic artwork to take home.
What materials will be needed?
Materials - Bring sketches of designs you like, if you have them, and a sketch book, pencil and or pen, so you can develop others.
All other materials and equipment provided.
