The Learning Connexion art school delivers a suite of NZQA accredited creativity programmes at levels 4, 5, 6 and 7. They provide a clear structure and plenty of room for creative freedom.

Our art programmes are student-centred, hands-on, and emphasises the connections between the processes of art and the wider field of creativity. The overall goal is to achieve sustainable creativity for every student.

The New Zealand Certificate in Creativity (Level 4) says YES to seeking and discovering who you are as a creative.  Creativity grows from your trials and experiments, driven by your particular creative and artistic interests and personal strengths.  We provide encouragement, teaching and learning support to help you develop your creativity, in a way that fits the real world.

The entire TLC art school adventure is a boost to well-being. Students report greater confidence, resilience and become confident in their ability to find ways to prosper, no matter whatever the circumstances are.

The New Zealand Diploma in Creativity (Level 5) is about discovering and knowing who you are as a creative, (understanding that creativity is a mixture of ‘self’ and ‘others’).  At the TLC art school, we support and nurture each other in many different ways.  You will learn marketing and promotional skills, collaboration, and establish win-win engagements.

Creativity challenges conventions and this allows you to discover what differences you could make to your own world, right now, and how these changes might affect others. These ideas may relate to culture, health, environment, science, society, economics, politics or any other field of interest to you.

The New Zealand Diploma in Creativity (Level 6) focuses on knowing and being enlightened about yourself and your creative practice. While developing your own research and practice skills for creativity, you will be participating in exhibitions and exploring ways to make your creative practice sustainable and connect with community. It is about engaging with the needs of others and being aware of your environment.

Your personal confidence will be well-established. Your ability to manage your own affairs in the workplace, or as an individual practitioner, is supported by a wide range of in-depth and practical competencies.

The Diploma of Art and Creativity (Advanced) (Level 7) is the natural next step after completing a Level 6 creative qualification. This art programme is designed for ākonga (students) who are ready to refine their practice, push creative boundaries, and begin working towards a sustainable, professional artistic career.

You’ll develop a cohesive body of experimental work, culminating in a public presentation or exhibition that reflects your unique creative direction. This programme will challenge you to think deeply, make bravely, and connect your work to broader conversations in your chosen discipline.
