The first week of every term is Makers Week – three immersive days dedicated to mastering skills in one type of media. You’ll attend the same art class for all three days, focusing on technical skills and giving yourself the chance to grow in a specific area.

Please email or call us on 0800 278 769 ext 232 if you have any questions.

Makers Week is designed for students enrolled in our NZQA Level 4–7 programmes. If space allows, we welcome casual students aged 16+ too.

The media and techniques explored during Makers Week change each term, so there’s always something new to learn. Check the Current Classes section below for more details and to register online. Limited spots available.

Classes run Monday to Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM in the first week of each term, and the studio stays open until 4:30 PM on those days.

Our enrolled students have access to the studio for the whole week, so they can finish off their art projects and catch up with their Creativity Kaiako.

Makers Week Classes are free to Students enrolled in a Level 4 to 7 qualification.

Cost to casual students: $225 per three-day Makers Week, plus any materials you may need to purchase.

Some Makers Week art classes require the purchase of a Materials Pass to cover additional materials supplied by TLC for use in the studio. These are usually classes that use specialist studios, such as Print, Ceramics and Jewellery, or a life model. The cost of the pass is available when you register.

We’ll come to the studio with our mobile EFTPOS, or you can buy your materials pass at the TLC shop. There’ll always be classes that don’t require a Materials Pass available. Please note, you’ll need to supply your own art materials for all classes, unless covered by a materials pass.
