» Accommodation options for Taita
We are really excited about Taita, not only for its lush setting but the facilities it boasts! The TLC Educational Trust has upgraded its 10 acre site at Taita, which has spacious buildings set against a stunning backdrop of native bush, extending up and over the hill behind the campus.
The Taita campus has a fantastic new 3D facility, the 'Hot Arts' studio. There will be facilities for sand casting, a metal fabrication room with 3 types of welders, metal grinding, and a blacksmith room that will be great for making tools and working wrought iron. Future developments include ceramic, glass and stone/wood carving studios.
A purpose-built jewellery studio has been running since Term 3, 2006. The classes are very popular and usually full. The foundation area is large with painting studios set off of it. There is plans for more teaching space and even more studio spaces. Enough room for everyone!
A bus will run daily for students and staff, from and to central Wellington (see the bus timetable for locations and times).
We live here, we love it. If you want to get a feeling for the scenery, check out the Lord of the Rings movies or get on the Web and look at www.purenz.com for the tourist stuff and http://www.stats.govt.nz for facts, figures, maps and a wealth of other information.
