We expect students to become fluent with relevant techniques and to find creative applications which connect with their own experience.
Fluency usually takes time to develop and we would expect the work will be characterised by uneven technical quality (clearly moving in the direction of higher competence), variety, experimentation, imagination and spontaneity. Students pay close attention to responses from their classmates and friends and (as a part of our school exhibitions) participate in classroom displays of their art.
We encourage everyone to create work that has the "WOW!" factor - something compelling which attracts attention and delivers something of value.
